Vietnam to Cambodia cycle in aid of The Stroke Association

John W Davies Solicitors' Conveyancing Assistant, Sam Williams, will be cycling a staggering 420km from Vietnam to Cambodia in aid of The Stroke Association in October 2017.

A charity close to her and her family's hearts, Sam has decided to take on this challenge with the partnership of her friend, Wendy, who has previously survived a stroke. They are both funding the trip themselves, meaning that all donations will be given to the charity.

New to cycling, Sam and Wendy have been training vigorously over the past month and will continue to do so until their trip in October this year. The duo have been cycling the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley cycle routes, preparing themselves for the challenge they have ahead of them.

Sam said "The devastation sometimes left behind after a stroke is something I'm still trying to get my head around. A stroke can change someone’s life instantly. I want to push myself into something I've never done before; to challenge myself and to use the opportunity to raise awareness and hopefully help some of those affected by strokes."

The Stroke Association rely heavily on the donations given to them by generous supporters. All of their donations go towards:

- Pioneering preventative and rehabilitative stroke research.

- Life after Stroke Services across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

- Life after Stroke Grants for stroke survivors experiencing financial hardship.
